Wild Selections® supports World Wildlife Fund’s (WWF) efforts to protect marine life and expand sustainable fishing practices globally — a partnership to create lasting change through a collaboration of business, science, and conservation. An industry first, we’re donating 13 cents from the sale of each can—a minimum of $1 million by 2018*—to support WWF and their goal of securing our oceans’ future. Learn more about why WWF is so excited about working with us at the World Wildlife Fund’s partnership page.

Today, about a quarter of the world’s fisheries are overfished, depleted or recovering. And half of our fisheries are at or near their sustainable limit. As the world’s population increases, WWF’s work to expand sustainable fishing practices becomes more important than ever. Learn more about the importance of sustainable fishing with our infographic.

Thousands of endangered sea turtles nest on the beaches of Indonesia. WWF identified that more than 95% of the turtles’ nests were lost to poachers, who could turn a profit by illegally selling eggs across the border in Malaysia. In 2011, WWF started a local campaign to protect the turtle nests, educating people about the problem and training them on how to monitor the nests themselves—significantly decreasing the rate of poaching to only 25% (and it continued to decline the following year). Protecting sea life, such as sea turtles, is one important example of how Wild Selections® donations will benefit WWF’s conservation efforts.
